Positive Affirmations
You have probably heard of them but what are Positive Affirmations?
- They are short, powerful statements set in the first person and in the present tense.
- By working on a deep level of the mind, they help us change our subconscious negative thoughts. The brain then starts to rewire these new beliefs, shifting us to think more positively.
- Whilst they can be used as a starting point, the most effective and lasting results are achieved when they are combined with inner work; by addressing the underlying beliefs and emotions.
- They can be repeated daily, silently or out loud. They can be said when needed in the moment, or as often throughout the
day as you wish.
- Choose the affirmations that resonate with you. Write them in your journal, as a note in your phone, or record a few of them as a voice note to listen to when you wake up, and/or before you go to sleep.
For Managing Anxiety
'I am safe. I am grounded. I am in control.' 'This feeling is temporary. I can breathe through it.' 'I don’t need to believe every anxious thought.' 'I’ve handled hard things before. I can do it again.' 'Right now, I choose peace over worry.' 'My breath anchors me in the present moment.' (Focus on your breathing) 'It’s okay to feel anxious, but I have nothing to fear; I allow this feeling to pass.' 'I allow myself to let go of what I cannot control.'
For Managing Imposter Syndrome
'I am enough just as I am.' 'I trust my abilities and the path I am on.' 'Success is a reflection of my hard work and dedication. ' 'I am capable of learning and growing through challenges.' 'I belong here and have earned my place.' 'Every setback is a setup for my comeback.' 'I choose to focus on my strengths, not my perceived weaknesses.' 'I celebrate progress, not perfection.'
For Building Confidence
